COURSE OUTLINE
Business education provides learners with opportunities to develop knowledge, practices and opinions to meet immediate personal needs, participate as a responsible worker, prepare to own or manage a business, enterprise or venture and to engage in a variety of other business activities. Knowledge of business activities and business practices is important for young people as they enter the work force, make increasingly complex consumer decisions and rely on entrepreneurial skills to create their futures.

Year 9
- Introduction to Accounting 1 - Assets, Liabilities and Owners Equity
- Consumer Finance
- Introduction to Accounting 2 - The Double Entry System
- Budgeting
- Operating a Venture
- Marketing
Year 10
- Success in Small Business
- Understanding the Business Plan
- Introduction to Accounting 3 - Revenue and Expenses
- Bank Reconciliation
- Electronic Bookkeeping (using Quickbooks)
Integrated use of Information Technology is a priority. This includes the use of spreadsheets, electronic accounting package, on-line learning, Powerpoint presentations and/or word processing.
