The Arts Faculty at Ayr High offers Visual Art, Drama and Music on an elective basis to senior level, except in year 8 where all students are given a fourteen week exposure to each of the three subjects.
The authority registered subjects of Music Studies and Visual Art Studies are also offered at senior level.
Each of the Arts delivers programs which provide opportunities for success for all learners in well resourced, specialist areas and which promote continuing development and growth of individual student abilities.
The school also provides a very well developed instrumental music program which allows students from both the middle and senior school, opportunities to excel in the advanced practice and performance of a range of musical genre.
Studying the Arts assists students in developing thinking skills that help to solve problems creatively and also provides a foundation for arts-based careers or interests later in life.
