YOUR P&C – WORKING FOR YOUR STUDENT

The P&C Association meets each month and usually on the first Monday of the month.  The Meetings are held in the Resource Centre (Library) and begin promptly at 7.30pm.  A supper is provided at each meeting.  The meeting dates for 2009 are:-

P&C Operations in Brief

Over recent years the P&C has spent many thousands of dollars on the installation of

air-conditioning in conjunction with the State Government under the Cooler Schools Scheme and has assisted with Information Technology resources for students.

This year the P&C has contributed over $12,500 for the installation of Data Projectors in several classrooms, $8,000 to enhance Chaplaincy Services, and a Scholarship Scheme for the Highest Academic Achievers in each Year level at the end of the year and for the following year.  One Scholarship will be provided for each of the Year Levels 2009       2010; Yr 8        Yr 9; Yr 9        Yr 10; Yr 10        Yr 11; Yr 11       Yr 12.  These will be provided each year from now on.

The financial assistance scheme for high achievers has been formalized and criteria has been made available to all students and parents.  This “P&C Student Endeavour Policy” is there to assist those individuals or teams who achieve and compete at State or National level.  The details are posted for your information.

P&C Affiliation with QCPCA – Online Homework Help

Our P&C is affiliated with the Queensland Council of Parents & Citizens’ Association (QCPCA).  Our annual affiliation fee pays for the insurance on Canteen operations and for volunteer workers at the school.  The affiliation information about policies and operations and together with some legal assistance if necessary.

One service for students and parents is “free online homework help for all Queensland Students”.  The qualified tutors can assist in English, Mathematics, Science, Assignment Research, and Study Skills.  The site is www.yourtutor.com.au. More information is provided in the Library Section of our Website.
